We ran these two projects in Winchmore Hill simultaneously. The two dormers were abutted to ensure each property’s dormer achieved its full width and reached it potential by extending to the boundary line.

By showcasing these two lofts as one project, you can see how each client has chosen to finish and style their loft in an individual way to achieve a space that suits their home yet both lofts are finished beautifully!

Abutment

To create a false façade that gives the appearance of the dormers being joined; by forming a timber frame between the dormers that enables the roofer to extend the tiles to meet. A layer of felt is then torched on to create a canopy between the flat roofs of the two dormers, sealing the gap between them.  The abutment procedure means that both dormers are weather tight however neither dormer is actually adjoined. s

The first project has opted for anthracite grey sliding doors with a black wrought iron Juliet balcony.

To complement this, they’ve decorated the internal woodwork in a slate grey. They chose 1930’s shaker doors and supplied black handles.

The en-suite carries through the slate/black theme. Our tiler laid metro tiles vertically to create this stunning effect. Combined with a bespoke shower screen templated and installed by our glazier, this en-suite is visually impressive.

The skylight over the stairs emits plenty of light and creates a striking feature as you enter into the new loft space.

The second project has opted for white uPVC French doors with sidelights and a glass balcony.

To complement this, they’ve decorated the internal woodwork in white. They also chose 1930’s shaker doors and supplied brass handles.

We created built-in storage in the En-suite and installed a concealed cistern toilet. This maximised the space! The neutral tones selected open the space and create a light and airy feel.

Two Velux's were installed into the front roof over the eaves storage area to bring light into the bedroom.

They also selected a skylight, which over any loft staircase, is a great addition to the space!
